When I was little, I would sit at the bar in my parents' kitchen and watch mom make as many pancakes as I could eat. As I grew older, my parents, friends and I talked about many things at that bar: broken hearts, school, travel, whatever was going on in our lives.
I was taking lessons then on what I want this pub to be: a place to sit and be comfortable; a place to take the time to mull life over. Food and drink create comfort and the patience to be still long enough to find answers.
